You can work more flexibly with a long hose
Hoses come in different lengths. The longer the hose, the longer the automatic reel takes to rewind after use.
You can find models with a hose length of 10, 15, 20 or 30 meters in stores. With a 30 meter hose you can work very flexibly and save moving the compressor. At least 15 meters should be the length of the hose to be able to work comfortably with it.
The length of the supply line should not be less than two meters.
Also pay attention to the length of the supply line. This connects the compressor to the hose reel and is between one and three meters for most models. We recommend that you choose at least two meters supply line length.
The maximum possible working pressure is between 12 and 20 bar, depending on the hose model.
The reel should be closed on construction sites
To prevent dirt from the work from getting into the hose reel and damaging the hose, it should be built closed in any case. The hose is also safely protected from UV radiation and other influences in a closed reel.
Alternatively, there are open hose reels, but they are only suitable for use in a clean environment.
Place the compressed air hose reel depending on the space available. Some compressed air hose reels can be installed on the ceiling to save space. The reel is also quickly bolted to the wall. A carrying handle is practical, thanks to which you can easily remove the reel from its holder and place it somewhere else.
A hose guide keeps things tidy
Knots and kinks cause damage to the hose. These can be avoided if you use a model with a hose guide. Thanks to this, the hose is always wound in a controlled and clean manner, which can significantly increase its service life. The hose thickness or inner diameter for most models is between six and thirteen millimeters. The thicker a compressed air hose is, the higher the maximum possible working pressure in bar may be.
A good indication of the maximum possible amount of air that can be passed through the hose is also given by the internal diameter.
Hoses with a thickness of just eight millimeters are perfectly adequate for simple airbrushing and painting work at a pressure of around four bar. Heavy compressed air equipment, such as a sandblaster, requires more working pressure in bar and must therefore also be significantly thicker and more robust. At least ten millimeters, and preferably a little more, are recommended here.
